Within the Newton Fund our most ambitious proposal is Colombia Bio,
a program through we which we encourage a strong collaboration
between British and Colombian researchers
Both governments have committed £20 million to co-invest in research
to comprehend and sustainably use the vast biodiversity in Colombia

Scientists from several countries study the paramos from Boyacá and Cundinamarca
with the aim of producing new scientific knowledge for Colombia and the world
Since its beginning back in 2014
the Newton-Caldas Fund has co-funded with Colombia around 300 projects

AUDIO
Speaker 10: The project tries to answer the question: what is innovation?
Issues at the intersection of the urban and rural areas of the city
have become terribly worse
The idea is to master the data that they collect from their environment
which allows them to dialogue with the municipal administration
with a solid knowledge regarding all the technology and all the scientific knowledge
that used to create a strong barrier in the dialogue
